Synopsis: In 16th-century Spain, maidservant Luzia Cotado conceals both her magic and her Jewish heritage from the authorities. Although the discovery of Luzia's "milagritos" could bring the Inquisition to her door, she instead acquires a wealthy patron who pairs her with an unusual teacher, Guillén Santángel.
