About this event
University of Tampa students have the opportunity to attend 1 Million Cups Tampa, a free, recurring weekly entrepreneurship event that brings together startup founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, business owners, and industry professionals throughout the Tampa Bay community.
Developed in 2012 by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, 1 Million Cups is a nationwide entrepreneurship initiative operating in more than 160 communities. The program is built around the idea that entrepreneurs can discover solutions, exchange ideas, and build meaningful professional relationships over a cup of coffee. Its mission is to educate, engage, and inspire entrepreneurs while providing resources and community support to help businesses succeed.
Each Wednesday morning, local entrepreneurs have the opportunity to present their businesses, share their entrepreneurial experiences, and discuss the challenges they face while launching and growing their ventures. Attendees can participate in interactive discussions, ask questions, provide feedback, and learn directly from founders navigating the real-world challenges of entrepreneurship.
This event provides University of Tampa students with opportunities to:
Expand Professional Networks: Meet local entrepreneurs, startup founders, business owners, industry professionals, and potential mentors.
Gain Real-World Experience: Learn firsthand about the challenges, decisions, and strategies involved in launching and growing a business.
Discover Startup Opportunities: Explore emerging businesses, innovative ideas, and potential internships, mentorships, or business partnerships.
Develop Entrepreneurial Skills: Strengthen communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and professional networking skills through meaningful conversations.
Engage with the Tampa Bay Business Community: Build connections beyond campus and become more involved in the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Whether students are developing their own business ideas, operating an existing venture, or exploring entrepreneurship as a potential career path, 1 Million Cups Tampa provides an opportunity to step outside the classroom, connect with experienced professionals, and gain practical business knowledge.
UTampa Entrepreneurs is promoting this event as an external professional development and networking opportunity for students. The club is not hosting or organizing the event. Students are encouraged to take advantage of this recurring opportunity to build relationships, discover new ideas, and become more active in Tampa Bay's entrepreneurial community.
